03 — Craftsmanship

From the hammer to the sheath.

Handmade, here, means the steel is folded and hammered by hand. These frames are photographs of the finished knives.

  1. Side view of the EV-57Z Damascus blade on a white background

    01 — Forging The pattern

On the Damascus knives the blade is pattern-welded steel, folded and hammered until the surface belongs to that blade alone.

  2. Spine and handle detail of EV-023

    02 — Grinding The edge

The spine and the cutting edge are ground into the forged blade. EV-001 is the exception: its blade is D2 steel, not Damascus.

  3. Spine and blue resin handle of EV-57Z

03 — Handle In the hand

EV-57Z wears a blue resin handle. EV-023 is bone. The handle is part of that knife, not a shared moulding.

  4. EV-023 seated in its brown leather sheath

    04 — Sheath Leather

A stitched leather sheath covers the blade when the knife is carried. Dry the steel before it goes back in.
